Frustrated by lack of progress in weekly therapy?
While traditional therapy can be a supportive, workable option for some people and situations, other times you need a more structured approach with more time for the deep shift you are looking for. An intensive therapy model creates the space to go further, faster, while healing from the root to create change that will truly support your healing and self-growth journey.
With dedicated time, you can process what’s been weighing you down and gain a new way to understand yourself. Instead of waiting months for momentum, you start to feel the effects of therapy right away.
Our intensives combine two of the most evidence-supported, modern methods of healing from traumatic relationships and memories: IFS and EMDR. Together, these approaches help you get to the root of pain instead of only managing surface-level symptoms.
They help you get to know the different parts of yourself while helping you reprocess the memories those parts hold. Your therapist guides you to uncover patterns of self-protection while releasing the original pain that created them. They move you connect with your core Self and to resource that Self to regulate intense emotions.
This work isn’t about quick fixes. Instead, it’s about creating the conditions for lasting change in a shorter amount of time.
Sometimes weekly therapy doesn’t feel like enough to achieve the deep-level healing and lasting change you are looking for. You start to make progress, but then the session ends. You pick back up the next week, only to lose momentum in between. This stop-and-start cycle can feel frustrating.
That’s where intensives come in. An intensive is a focused block of therapy time (several hours in one day) designed to help you go deeper, faster. Instead of spreading sessions out over months, you set aside dedicated time to focus fully on your healing.
With this format, you don’t have to wait for breakthroughs. You can stay with the work, move past stuck points, and create lasting change without losing traction. It’s a powerful way to accelerate progress and give yourself the time and space you deserve.
While traditional therapy happens in 50-minute sessions, that pace can make it hard to go deep and discover the true source of your pain and discomfort. You often run out of time just as you’re getting to the heart of things.
In a longer intensive, you stay with the work. With IFS and EMDR therapy, that means fully reprocessing painful memories instead of stopping mid-way and truly connecting with your the parts of yourself to move past protective blocks.
The result is faster relief, deeper healing, and breakthroughs that traditional therapy sessions often take months to reach.
Who Are Intensives For?
Because this work is deeply intensive, it can feel powerful and, at times, challenging. Your sessions will be carefully guided to ensure the process is safe, supportive, and effective for your system.
Accelerated breakthroughs
You know there’s something deeper behind your arguments, your anxiety, or the patterns that keep repeating in your life. In an intensive, you stay fully with the work instead of stopping mid-step. You leave feeling lighter, freer, and more in control. Old cycles that once held you back begin to dissolve, and you notice yourself showing up differently, with your partner, your family, and even at work.
Deep Emotional Processing
You feel it. The tightness in your chest, the pit in your stomach, the tension that builds when you worry about being judged. An intensive gives you uninterrupted space to face what’s been buried. By the end, those feelings lose their hold. You breathe easier, think more clearly, and move through situations with more calm and confidence.
Lasting Tools and Clarity
You’ve tried coping strategies that only take you so far. In this focused time, you gain insight and strategies that actually stick. You leave with practical ways to manage triggers, make clearer decisions, and respond instead of react. Your life feels more manageable, your relationships more connected, and you walk away with confidence that these changes will last.
I get it! Virtual therapy can feel unfamiliar at first, but it’s been around long enough to be proven effective. EMDR and IFS can be administered completely online, allowing you to do deep, focused work from the comfort of your own space.
You’ll be in a private, familiar environment, which can help you feel safe, supported, and more present during the process. Virtual sessions also remove barriers like travel, childcare, or scheduling conflicts, making it easier to stay consistent and fully engaged. Many clients find that working from home actually enhances their focus and emotional openness, leading to meaningful breakthroughs.
If you’re still uncomfortable about doing this virtually, I totally get it! Unfortunately, at this time, I don’t offer in-person sessions and would recommend you look for another option.
Virtual sessions take place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. You’ll join from wherever you feel safest and have reliable internet access. Home, a private office, or another quiet space.
The session structure is the same as in-person work: guided, supportive, and results-focused. You’ll have uninterrupted time to process, reflect, and make progress, just as you would in the therapy room.
How do virtual sessions work?
Each intensive includes 7 contact hours, giving you enough uninterrupted time to make meaningful progress and address patterns that often take weeks of therapy to reach.
If you feel you need more support, additional sessions can be added at the standard rate, ensuring your intensive is tailored to your pace, goals, and healing journey.
Amount Of Time
Blending IFS and EMDR creates a highly effective, results-driven approach. IFS helps you understand and connect with the parts of yourself that hold pain or protect you. EMDR allows those memories and emotions to be fully processed.
Together, they address both the experience and the internal system that carries it, creating deeper, faster, and longer-lasting change than either approach alone.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy designed to help you process and release painful memories that continue to affect your life. It’s highly researched and has been proven effective for trauma, anxiety, and many other emotional challenges.
EMDR therapists use techniques to help your brain “reprocess” memories so they lose their intense emotional charge. The result is relief from the grip of old experiences and a greater sense of emotional freedom.
EMDR Therapist In Florida
EMDR works exceptionally well in an intensive format. Instead of short weekly sessions, you have long, uninterrupted blocks of time to fully process memories and experiences. This allows deeper breakthroughs in a shorter period of time. Many clients notice relief from long-standing distress, a clearer perspective, and a reduction in patterns that once kept them stuck.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand the different parts of yourself. Those that protect, criticize, or carry emotional pain. Research shows IFS is effective for trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. By connecting with these parts and learning to support them, you gain insight, self-compassion, and the ability to change unhelpful patterns.
Internal Family Systems
IFS is particularly powerful in an intensive format. Longer sessions allow you to connect with multiple parts of yourself without stopping mid-process. This uninterrupted focus helps you transform protective patterns, release old burdens, and create lasting internal harmony. Clients often leave with a stronger sense of self, calmer emotional responses, and clearer relationships.
Many people wonder if a single intensive can truly make a difference. If you’re ready to fully engage and commit to the process, intensives give you uninterrupted, focused time to address the patterns, memories, and emotions that often take months of weekly therapy to reach.
That said, an intensive isn’t a replacement for ongoing support and can be an intense experience. It’s a powerful jumpstart that creates breakthroughs, provides clarity, and equips you with tools to continue your growth.
Many clients follow up with a therapist afterward to integrate what emerged, but the shifts they experience during an intensive can be profound and life-changing.
